Global Communication

Introduction
Global communication is the process through which transmission and receipt of information is conducted on a world-wide scale. Over the centuries, people have been communicating on a world scale. However, distance and isolation have been the two main obstacles of global communication until the recent times. Nonetheless, the evolution of technology has transformed global communication into a more effective, easy, faster and clearer venture. Global communication has influenced globalization in the past 10 years. Global communication has revolutionized the globalization process because it has compressed time and space between individuals and societies thereby encouraging globalization with limited movement and less time wastage.
Globalization is a process by which regional economies, cultures, and societies have become incorporated through a global system of transportation, communication, and trade. So my thesis Statement are global communication has been made more effective and faster through technological advancements in mobile phone, computers and internet and communication satellite.
First of all, the mobile phone which is also referred to as cellular phone has been influential on global communication. Approximately 35% of the current world population is using the mobile phone technology to either transmit simple voice telecommunication as well as short text messages (SMS) from one mobile phone to the other. This technology has drastically gained popularity because it has enabled people to communicate anywhere and anytime they wish to.
Secondly, internet communication has been the most common mode of global communication frequently used in the recent past; this has been achieved through various ways with e-mail communication leading. Other communication types entail chat groups, email discussion groups, and Usenet news. Indeed such communications are exceptional in environments that are computer networked and have gained recognition due to the internet. This has been made possible because the percentage of individuals owning a computer has largely increased in the past few years. One of the publicly released statistics is that of Australia whereby in 1998 44% of Australians owned a computer in comparison to 71% in 2007. This trend has been experienced worldwide. Since internet is a network of PCs that offer information to individuals, the rise in use of the computers has resulted in a concomitant rise in the use of the internet as a new media.
Finaly, satellite communication utilizes a system that orbits around the Earth that receives a signal and transmits it to the ground. This type of communication has been an essential part of both global and domestic communication. The innovation and improvement of the communication satellite technology has been very important in the development of digital and online journalism the Satellite News Gathering Technology especially in live television broadcast.
Moreover, satellite technology has enabled communication, weather forecasting, navigation, and observation of land, sea and air and also enabled scientists to produce and transmit live images across the media even in remote areas as the war zones, as it was with the case of the Iraq war.
In conclusion, global communication has been simplified in the resent past thereby propelling globalization. The advancement in global communication has been linked to technological advancement especially in the mobile phone, communication satellite, and computer and internet technologies.

Definition: Globalization is describes a process by which regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through a global network of communication, transportation, and trade. Also, global communication has become increasingly easy, faster, clearer and more effective.

My three thesis statement will be: mobile phone, Computers and The Internet and The Communication Satellite.

Body

1- Mobile phone: The development of mobile phone technology has been influential on global communication.

2- Computers and The Internet: The Internet is a network of computers that offers information to people

3- The Communication Satellite: Satellites are now used in communications and television broadcast, weather forecasting, navigation, observing land, sea and air and other scientific communications

• In conclusion, I will summarize my easy and paraphrase my thesis statement .

Diane Hacker site

I visit on the Diane Hacker site and I have learned many things, such as grammar, punctuation and clear sentence. So, this Diane Hacker site will help me to improve my language and it will make me able to write a strong passive or active sentence. For example, “At the trail, no convincing evidence was presented against the accused psychologist”, this is a passive sentence and before I opened the website I won’t know it. Also, I did writing exercises and I have learned how I can write an introduction that can summarize my topic and present my thesis statement. This should be clear for the readers. Moreover, to take people attention you must choose good topic that you can write about it clearly with some hook sentence in the beginning. Otherwise readers may feel boring while they read you work. Therefore, I’m trying to make my writing better by studying this website “Diane Hacker site", which seems very helpful to me. Last but not least, besides my learning I will recommend to my friends or anyone wants to improve his\ her language.

Inventory

It is a nice spring day and I have just returned from overseas where I went to visit my uncle, who lives in the States. I recall vividly what it transpired during my visit. One of the areas which I found fascinating most was when I visited an inventory warehouse. It was amazing to look at the rows of boxes of goods all over the warehouse and the way things were being done in the warehouse. It was in fact thrilling to look at the way in which communication was done inside and outside the warehouse. Pete, who is one of the assistants in the warehouse, explained to us the entire process of flow of goods into the warehouse. I asked him why they had set aside some old boxes of matches upon which he replied that it was part of the quality program that the company had come up with not to ship goods which do not look good. He asserted that the warehouse was one of its own kinds, which was giving the warehouse a competitive advantage. We inspected the rows of boxes of different goods and noticed an African statute at one corner of a row of ruler boxes. Pete explained that the statute represented the man who is behind the establishment of the warehouse. He said that the man laid the stone foundation and was involved actively in seeing that the warehouse succeeded.

Another visit that was significant to me while at the states was my visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. The magnificence and the variety of arts forms that I encountered while in the museum were great. A small boat met us on the entrance of the museum and I asked the assistant, Mr. Doe in the museum what that meant. He asserted that the boat signified the traditional boats which were used by white settlers when they were moving from one territory to another. One striking feature which made the boat to look magnanimous was the decorations which had been made on the inner parts of the boat. The decorations appeared old yet they were full of creativity. The decorations further represented the theme of warship and bravery.

At one part of the museum, I realized that there were several forms of traditional wares. I saw an old piece of cloth, a head carved from wood and a jar of earthenware. The piece of cloth was a symbol for the traditional cloth that was worn by the white settlers when they first settled in America. The head carved from wood was a sign of art that was present several years ago. It was meant to encourage and educate the present generation that creativity was also applied in the past. We were later informed by Doe that these traditional wares were a source of fame as well as business to the museum. Many tourists and foreigners who visit this state go to see these wares and as a result bring in foreign exchange to the government. Doe noted that it was important for the warehouse to keep these wares since the government was supposed to rely on them for the safety of some of the renowned traditional wares. Later on Doe took us to another part of the compound where the museum was located and we found a stone stamp, a small house from Spain and Singapore currency. Pete explained that these were some of the remains of traditional forms of attractions which appealed to many tourists.

Although my visit to the states was a short one, I enjoyed the many visits to several places. I encountered several incidents one among losing my wallet when I had gone to a night club. I recall the incident vividly. I had obtained a ticket to be among the launching of an album by one of the famous musicians. When we were entering the hall where the event took place, several people were also streaming in. No sooner had I entered in than I realized that I had lost my wallet. I recall reporting the incident to one of the security officers to which he advised me to be careful next time since it was hard to retrieve the wallet again.
